Drug Store News - Schering-Plough’s Clarinex receives more allergy indications
Schering-Plough’s Clarinex (desloratadine), positioned as a successor to Claritin (loratadine), received the green light from the FDA to be marketed as a treatment for allergic rhinitis. The new indication broadens the drug’s initial use as a treatment for seasonal allergic rhinitis. Expanded labeling for Clarinex also notes it can be used safely to treat seasonal allergies in adults with concomitant mild-to-moderate asthma.
